Our latest brownie design will make you feel like a zillion dollars! The Zillionaires Brownie is a sweet, crumbly shortbread base topped with a caramel brownie layer, salted caramel buttercream and dark chocolate ganache, sprinkled with gold stars and gold crunch!

The Mix & Match Cutter
FMM‘s Mix ‘n’ Match Face Cutter is a revolutionary cutter with an all-in-one design. It has helped our bakers create an endless variety of cute animal faces to top our cupcakes, such as these adorable woodland creatures! All it takes is our favourite sugar paste, Renshaw Ready to Roll Icing, some edible glue and a little imagination and creativity!

Opening our drinks bar in Selfridges
This year, HLC excitedly announced the opening of our drinks bar, which is located next to our Selfridges concession in the Trafford Centre! You now have somewhere to sit and relax, whilst you tuck into your favourite treat, and you can fuel up on one of our delicious Illy coffees to help propel you around the shops!
We now also teach express cupcake decorating classes at the bar. Visit our website to find out more!
The Ferrero Rocher cupcake
Due to the demand and success of our Ferrero Rocher Brownie, our bakers thought it was about time to rustle up a cupcake equivalent! Needless to say, it went down a storm!
Birthday cakes for the staff at Salford Foundation
As chairwoman at the Salford Foundation, HLC’s owner and director Sarah Wilson-Gibbons kindly made a promise to treat every single staff member at the organisation to their very own personalised birthday cake! Over the year, it has given our bakers even more creative freedom and they have had a lot of fun coming up with some unique designs!
Baking with Biscoff
Back in September, we became obsessed with Biscoff! We just can’t get enough of this rich, velvety spread, which conjures up the most cosy of vibes, with its hints of cinnamon and caramel.

Our 8th Birthday collection
On August 11th, we celebrated our 8th Birthday! It’s amazing to see how we have evolved over the years; from the humble beginnings of a kitchen in Manchester, to a pop-up shop, to a thriving bakery nestled in Spinningfields and busy concession in Selfridges Trafford Centre. With this success in mind, we didn’t want to limit our celebrations to the one day!
Celebrating the Royal Wedding
We whisked your taste buds on a journey from the UK to USA this year, with our British and American themed Royal Wedding Collection! From cakes and biscuits, to spreads and chilled desserts, this collection was bursting with flavour, drawing inspiration from the classic tastes of our home nation and the sweet treats from our friends across the pond!

Expanding our vegan range
Our vegan cupcake recipes came on leaps and bounds this year, with a new flavour dropping monthly and numerous customer orders under our belts; from vegan wedding cake towers to layer cakes!

The Unicorn cupcake
Our mystical Unicorn Collection galloped out of the HLC kitchen back in April, to coincide with National Unicorn Day! Our bakers dreamt up this sparkly cupcake creation, as well as an array of dazzling layer cakes and a blondie!

And that’s a wrap! 2018 has proved incredibly exciting for HLC. We hit two huge milestones; opening our drinks bar in Selfridges and reaching our 8th Birthday, and we have thoroughly enjoyed another year of creativity, with tonnes of new recipes and designs!
